The Foundation has provided partial support to Professor Fu Xiaolan and the Technology and Management Centre for Development at the University of Oxford for a series of collaborative policy research projects with the Chinese Academy of Sciences on how innovation globally is initiated, applied commercially and disseminated. The Foundation funded a Chinese scholar to go to the University of Oxford to work together with Oxford academics on the project and to participate in various seminars and other project activities. The scholar was named “the Cairncross Foundation visiting scholar”.
